David Grindstaff

BIM Technician

David Grindstaff is a BIM Technician at BCL Enterprise, bringing over 18 years of experience in technology design to the team. In his role, David is responsible for producing highly detailed design drawings and project models across a wide range of markets, including education, corporate, and public-sector facilities. His day-to-day work includes developing Revit templates, creating custom families, and writing scripts that streamline internal processes—ultimately enhancing the speed, accuracy, and efficiency of BCL’s design workflow.

David’s interest in drafting began in high school, where an introductory AutoCAD class sparked a passion that would shape his entire career. He went on to earn a degree in Computer Drafting and Design from ITT Technical Institute in 2011, solidifying both his technical skills and his commitment to the field. His early career began in the steel manufacturing industry, where he gained practical, hands-on experience that continues to inform his understanding of how technology integrates into real-world environments.

Before joining BCL Enterprise, David Grindstaff built a diverse project portfolio that includes everything from educational campuses and corporate headquarters to expansive convention centers and high-security data centers—including large-scale projects for companies such as Facebook. His expertise in Revit customization and design automation has made him a sought-after technician, known for his ability to solve problems creatively and deliver clean, coordinated design documentation.

David’s combination of technical precision and creative energy makes him a unique asset to the BCL team. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time outdoors—particularly skiing, snowboarding, and playing baseball. He’s also a talented artist, working in both digital and traditional media to explore new forms of creative expression. His diverse interests and continual pursuit of growth—both professionally and personally—reflect the same adaptability and drive he brings to every project at BCL Enterprise.
